MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES, AND
Responsibilities:
Complete chart audits.
Disassemble, analyze, and close charts as residents are discharged or expired.
Review resident's charts monthly for record of attending physician visits and progress notes.
Ensure all re-admissions have necessary paperwork in chart.
Attend triple check, PPS (Prospective Payment System), UR (Utilization Review), PI (Performance Improvement), and morning meetings.
Make sure all telephone orders and physician orders are signed.
Conduct thinning of charts as needed, and file them.
Oversee unit secretaries' chart filing.
Follow HIPPA rules and regulations.
Responsible for Medicare cert forms.
Input ICD-9 codes on face sheet for Medicare residents.
Demonstrate strong ethical practices regarding individual/resident rights.
Must be able to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
Keep all patient information received confidential.
Comply with state and federal regulations, as well as, all relevant facility policies.
Participate in facility functions, in-services, continuing education and departmental meetings.
Able to work schedule hours while allowing for flexibility to meet unique facility needs.
Conduct self in a competent and professional manner.
Engage in goal directed problem solving with team members when indicated.
Undertake projects as requested with satisfactory completion within established time frames.
Evaluate and maintain Performance Improvement Program within the department, regularly identifying potential problems, and offer constructive suggestions for corrective action when necessary.
Can be relied upon to be at work or give appropriate notification of absence per facility guidelines.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish job duties.
Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families, as well as, work independently and cooperatively with others.
Must meet all local health regulations if required, and pass post-employment physical exam.
This requirement includes:
drug screening, criminal background investigations, and reference inquiry.
Must be able to perform the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must have working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, insurances and Managed Process.
Related administrative experience at a level necessary to accomplish this job.
